My art history professor is so cute. She is worried that we're going to think that she's trying to convert us to either Christianity or Judiasm because she's showing us art work from the Early Christain, Jewish, and Byzantium period. Its all based on religious themes, and I really don't think she has control over it.
However, she is unrepentantly Christian, and possibly isn't tenured, so it might be a concern. Oh well... at 8am its kind of funny.
And she was trying to chastise us for being bad students. Of the 40 papers (or so) that were turned in over our class visit to the Nelson-Atkins museum, only 7 were on topic. Meaning that they covered an art piece that is in the time peroids that we are going to cover in the class. Those periods are primarily western and all fall in earlier than 1500. Aparently there were papers on Chinese Art and 1800 British Masterworks. I do happen to know that my paper was on a Classical Greek statue of a lion, so I'm one of the 7. I'm still not confident that it wasn't a piece of crap.
